Final Stages of Excavation taking place at Aisle Valley Farm
Tuesday 18, May 2010
We’ve been busy over the last few days completing the final stages of excavation at the lake we are building at Aisle Valley Farm in Great Witchingham. Around three quarters of the lake area has now been excavated with the remainder of the excavation work set to be completed by the end of the next week.
This week has seen the movement off site of a large quantity of the excavated spoil and the shaping of the lake banks, as well as the gradual emergence of the island due to be positioned in the middle of the lake.
Following the completion of the excavation work, the area around the lake will be carefully landscaped to blend in with the surrounding countryside with a new wildflower meadow being created around the southern, western and eastern boarders of the lake.
