Horse Owners Get Ready for Winter

This time of year can start to prove tricky for some horse owners who are trying to delicately balance the requirements of full time jobs with their passion and love of riding in their free time.

Dark evenings and mornings mean that the exercising of horses is limited to weekends only – and even then, it’s subject to the weather and ground conditions permitting this to happen.

The winter time of 2010/11 caused some seriously difficult weeks for many horse owners with the cold weather and prolonged frost meaning that riding was not possible on a day to day basis. This in turn meant that all the hours of practice through the summer months started to be undone over the winter with both horses and riders getting out of condition.

We have recently had a flurry of enquiries placed with us over recent weeks regarding the possible construction of horse arenas to solve the problems identified above for the coming winter. Our teams have been out and about installing arenas across the countryside throughout the summer time and we’ve got a busy run in to Christmas fulfilling orders for clients who want to avoid a winter of minimal exercise for their horses.
