Christmas time in the Equestrian World
Christmas time in the Equestrian World
21st December 2011December 21st represents an important day for any horse owner as it’s the day with the least amount of daylight hours in the whole year. With the short days comes an increasingly narrow window in which to ride in and the associated cold and icy mornings making routine equestrian tasks more challenging.
One of the key areas which comes under pressure for horse owners at this time of year is that of horse exercise. Exercise is vital to keep your horse in good physical condition and is a routine requirement for any responsible horse owner. Physically undertaking this necessary exercise in a safe way whilst the ground is either saturated or frozen can be problematic which is where the advantage of owning your own Horse Arena begin to really hit home.
A professionally constructed horse arena will allow horse exercise to take place on a year round basis. Unaffected by wet weather or the dark evenings, the arena provides an exercise area which can be used to work your animals on a truly year round basis.
2011 has seen us building new horse arenas for both private and commercial clients alike, creating both big and small riding areas on which year round riding can occur. We focus heavily on the drainage requirements of the arena to ensure that the surface remains free from surplus water at all times and also look closely at matching the surface requirements of the arena with the individual ability of both the horse and rider.
At William Morfoot Ltd we have built a broad spectrum of horse arenas which we actively encourage future clients to go and see before deciding whether or not to get us to build a new horse manege for them. There are still several months of winter left so why not get in touch and see how we can help you create a year round riding surface at your home? Our team of specialist consultants are on hand to offer advice and expertise with regard to what you may need and most importantly, to give you confidence that the arenas that we build are without doubt in a league of their own.
We wish you all a very merry Christmas and best wishes for 2012.
