Tim Sisson

Managing Director

Tim was appointed by William Morfoot in 2001 after obtaining a BSc (Hons) Degree in Agriculture and Farm Management at Newcastle University.

Before embarking on the university degree Tim travelled extensively, which included eight months working on a farm in Australia.

Tim has Norfolk farming roots. His grandmother and his uncle are farmers and his great grandfather founded RJ Seaman, one of the region’s most successful grain merchants.

Tim is responsible for the management of William Morfoot, from admin to accounts, finance, plant and labour.

“I am involved in every aspect of the company,” says Tim, “and this keeps me pretty busy. My main role, however, is to secure new business to ensure we continue to grow. This is achieved through a sales strategy of networking and actively promoting ourselves to potential clients on a regular basis. It has really paid off because we have seen phenomenal growth over the past 10 years.”

A key part of Tim’s job is meeting with new and existing clients to ensure they receive a high standard of service. “The initial meeting with a client is vital to assess the job in hand. I then prepare a detailed design and quotation for the project and – all the while keeping in close contact with the client – I oversee works throughout to ensure they are delivered on time, to budget and to the highest possible standard. That’s our ethos and it’s integral to our success.”

So what will the future bring? “Continued, managed, strategic growth is the key to our business success. We are adding a new trencher to our fleet, which will enable us to take on more work and improve efficiency.

“We are looking to increase the amount of work we do with larger organisations and take on more ambitious projects. I’d like to see us increase our project management work involving lake construction, and equestrian and sports complex development. There is huge potential for us to grow even further. We have the skills and resources to achieve a great deal in the future.”

But, as Tim is keen to point out, a great company is all about having the best team to work with. “The calibre of our workforce is second to none,” he explains. “From the admin and office staff to the labour force on the ground, we actively seek out people with the best skill set.  As we expand we will continue to employ only the best to ensure our customers receive only the best service.”

Tim lives in Yaxham with his wife, Lauren. In his spare time he is a keen skier and snowboarder and also enjoys travel.
